God bless you all...
Read an interesting article in newspaper few days back. The article talks about how the current recession affect on people life due to layoffs.
What caught my eyes, well it's the title (In five minutes, his life changed) and the statement below
Just one year ago, he had it all - cash, car, condominium and a challenging career.
In his heyday, the bachelor raked in more than $8,000 a month, drove a car, owned a condominium apartment, and had three credits cards and a country-club membership.
And the story goes on and closed by:
Meanwhile, he says he is having problems paying his insurance bills and housing instalments, and has resorted to selling his car.
Can you imagine that if last time you draw $8000 income for each month, and in 5 minutes of announcement, you find that your one and only source of income is being cut off? Few things that make me ponder and realized; It does not matter of how high your income or position, there is no 100% guarantee of income if you are still working under someone/company. As long as you are employee, the risk is there and of course it is more prominent in this like this now – recession. There have been many emails I received for past weeks about company lay off worldwide, etc.
Secondly, if I got lay off, how can I still enjoy my current lifestyle? Really have to give a good thought on this; How to build my passive income….
Simply because My saviour, Jesus Christ is born to this world to bring the good news for all.

Also, I like the feeling and the energy during the christmas week, all the roads are lighted up, christmas carol playing in the background, kids with parents, couples walking up the street, choir, busy street with shopping sales...whoaa.....
Tell me, what do you like about christmas?
This time round of christmas is bit different. For the past few years, we always travel out for holiday, but this year is NONE..aka ZERO..haiz...And another thing, the company shutdown is longer than before....2.5 weeks off from work but no planned holiday huhuhu...
In order to at least have "holiday" feeling....What I have planned is...............
to create my own "holiday" in Singapore hehe..
Few things that we can do in singapore besides all the shopping stuff
- Visit the nature reserves: Chek Jawa in pulau Ubin; Sungei Buloh
- Go to Snow city to have a white chritsmas feel hehe

Dan observasi dengan perubahan Jakarta, makin banyak pembangunan condo/apartment, dan perumahan yg in progress. Yang uda kelar pun, keren2 banget...bener2 deh...if you say Indonesia is in crisis, it does not look like one...Cuman ya, maybe there is other side of the coin that I have not see.
And talk about my Brother Wedding...hoho...last minute kena arrow jadi IC acaranya...tanpa arahan and details yg jelas...udah sempet bete aja...But anyway, after thinking through, it is MY BROTHER wedding after all, need to give the best...
Yang datang ada kali 650an, udah kaya pasar malam, ampe pusink ngeliatan, mana harus make sure makanan tetap ada and ditop up...mengerikan ngeliat gimana orang2 serbu makanan, some don't even care what is happening in front, all the atttention is on the food....bener2 deh....for me, I still prefer a small scale wedding dimana cuman orang2 deket aja yg datang :)

In the midst of all the bad news revolving all around, be it about the global recession, share market plunges even further after G20 meeting, job cuts for many companies, cost of living rise up substantially, stress people jumped to tiger cage (this happened in Singapore), in similar tone, tiger ate up a woman in one of the natural reserve in Indonesia because of the ecosystem has been damaged and causing lack of food for the tiger. And the list can go on and on if you decide to see and focus on this bad news.
On the other hand, there are our good friends wedding coming up, Christmas is coming, Promotion for some of us, new relationship, new babies born, those that are close in our heart.
What my point is there are much news around, it is up to us to choose what to hear and what to see, of course, I did not mean that we should shield off everything and become ignorant of what's happening in world.
But what I believe is; there is always sunshine after the rain and there are always opportunities in the midst of crisis (if there are people losing money, surely there are people gaining money during this time), job cut that you experience may bring you to a better opportunity or maybe you should set up your own business!
In conclusion, always give thanks in every circumstances, savor every moments with your closed ones (Family, friends), and always look at the bright side (not an easy task you might think, but it will surely make your life easier as compared if you keep looking at the downhill) J
What they do is since the elephant is baby; they will tie one of their legs using the iron chain. So whenever the baby elephant want to move, their movement will be restricted by the iron chain. The baby elephant did tried to break free the chain, however since they are still so young, the chain seems too strong for the baby elephant. The baby elephant tried and tried but yet they still can’t overcome it.
Along with time as the elephant grow, the trainer replaces the iron chain with just a normal rope. You may wonder why??? Even with iron chain, the fully grown elephant can easily break it free and now they replace that with just a normal rope? The answer is simple; there is bigger chain that has locked the elephant! That is THEIR OWN MIND. Whenever the elephant feel the presence of rope around their leg, they will stop moving just as when the iron chain locked their leg when they were baby.
Do you know that OUR MIND is such a powerful thing? If you keep thinking and feeding your MIND with: “No, I can’t do it”; “I’m such a failure”; “This thing is too tough for me”; “I will never be successful”; It may imprisoned you forever just what happen to the elephant.
Just like a saying: Everything starts in your mind, let’s feed this friend of us with POSITIVE thought that will lead to positive action and hence positive result in our life!

In 1979, before I got famous, there was a contest called the Toughest Bouncer in America. I used to bodyguard for some celebrities and other people, and when I wasn’t doing that I used to work at a disco as a doorman or a bouncer. When I started training for the contest I called my pastor, Rev. Henry Hardy of Cosmopolitan Community Church [in Chicago]. I’ve been going there since 1977. I say to the Lord, "when they see me, let them see you" so you know I can’t be coming out of the strip bar with a couple women on my arm. Because the Bible says, every time Christ sees a new creature, old things are passed away. I’m not the same man I used to be, I’m not out hell-raising, stuff like that. I am a changed man. Being gloomy yesterday but when I read this, it really reminded me to be thankful for all the things that I have in life. No more complain

Went to this restaurant last Thursday to try out the xiao long bao since it is featured in newspaper.Found the ambience is nice, so take this picture using my handphone while waiting for John
Food wise: Xiao long bao is not bad but I still prefer Din Tai Fung. But you can try the wan ton soup!
Price wise: $15- 20 per person (as we eat quite light that day)
Manage to cook my ever first food which is non-instant, not fried rice/noodle sorts.
First dish: Kung Pao chicken..
Result: 3 out of 5 (have followed the recipe religously but still bland hehe)
Too bad never take photo, too hungry..when I realized, all my Kung Pao chicken is gone ^^'
Next cooking is TBD..depend on my mood and time :P

Have not gotten any chance to look for this book, but from what I "wiki", here is the main points of difference of Men and Women (You be the jugde on whether these are true enough!)
The point system
Gray suggests that men and women count (or score) the giving and receiving of love differently. For men, they tend to give larger blocks of points (20, 30, 40 points etc.) whereas for women they give each act of love one point at a time.
Example: A man might count a $200 present as 20 points, but a woman will count each individual piece of the present as 1 point each. For her, the total sum of points comes from the present as a whole. For example, the different parts of the environment where the present is given each get 1 point (candles, music, privacy, location etc.) the card gets 1 point, the flowers get 1 point, the gift wrap gets 1 point and the gift itself gets 1 point. Their totals may even out to be the same, but it's the act of scoring that is different.
My opinion: Strongly AGREE haha

Back to the story....this couple actually meet through FLICKR...the online photo sharing community. When the girl saw the collection photos of the guy as shown by her friend, she had already made a mental note to add him as her community friend. To her surprise, when she reached home, the guy in the FLICKR has added her as friend. Through that community then they know each other better.
From FLICKR, then they write to each other (Of course not the old way where you have to wait for days or weeks to have your letter reach other party) like 3 times a day, talk through GCHAT, SKYPE..this is a real modern internet world romance.. till finally the guy fly over from USA to England to meet the girl...

Cerita pengalaman si wartawan cukup menarik. Menurut dia, si penjual jasa ini juga cukup hati2 waktu mo ketemu ama calon pembeli. Kebanyakan transaksi dilakukan di mal2 yang ga terlalu rame. And kalo penjual berasa ada yg aneh, mereka bisa tiba2 ngubah tempat pertemuan ataupun batalin janji dengan berbagai alasan
Intinya, kalo dah berhasil ketemuan ama penjualnya, penjual bakal nawarin berbagai kampus dengan berbagai jurusan. Total ada sepuluh kampus yang menyediakan menu berbagai jurusan. Tidak hanya di Surabaya dan Jawa Timur, juga di Jawa Tengah dan Kalimantan Selatan. Semua kampus yang disebut itu bisa dijadikan toko ijazah.
Bahkan penjual nanyain bakal and interest kita biar bisa dicocokin ama ijasah palsu. Dijelasin satu persatu tiap jurusan, and kasi testimonial buat client lain yang udah beli ijasah palsi. Hehe ternyata cukup bagus juga sales and marketing strateginya hehehe
Setelah sebulan, paket ijasah palsu diterima. Yang ada dipaket: ada satu lembar ijazah, satu lembar transkrip, plus fotokopi ijazah dan transkrip yang sudah dilegalisir.
Menurut Jawa Post, Ijazah itu sama dengan aslinya. Dari nama kampus, nomor izin Mendikbud, dan nomor akreditasi dari Badan Akreditasi Nasional. Di bagian bawah, tertulis bahwa ijazah itu diserahkan setelah yang bersangkutan memenuhi semua persyaratan yang ditentukan. Di bagian bawah kiri, tertera jelas nama rektor yang dibubuhi tanda tangan lengkap dengan stempel universitas. Di sebelah kanannya, terdapat foto dan nama dekan lengkap dengan tanda tangan dan stempel fakultas.
Demikian pula dengan transkrip nilai. Dalam selembar kertas yang bentuknya memanjang itu, Jawa Pos mendapat indeks prestasi 3,01. Nilai yang lumayan banget kan hehehe
Meski klien tidak membuat tugas akhir, judul skripsi juga tertulis jelas di transkrip itu. Yaitu Perjanjian Garansi Bank Sebagai Upaya Mencegah Kerugian yang Diakibatkan Wanprestasi Nasabah. Dan rupanya, skripsi itu dinilai lumayan bagus oleh kampus. Sebab, di transkrip skripsi itu tertulis dapat nilai AB. Lumayan lah untuk seorang pemilik ijazah yang ga pernah sehari pun kuliah di kampus tersebut
buat yg tertarik, jangan hub gua karena gua bukan penjual hohohoho
Lagian gelar is one thing, yg penting kan process nya...jangan sampe kaya pepatah Tong Kosong nyaring bunyinya

Last week is a short working week for me as I was out for course for 3 days, yippie!!! The course I attended was on Project Leadership and management...sound "chim" right. It was a good course, very interactive and fun per say...not much of text book study but more on real life example.
One of the section is to understand yourself better. We are given a tool called SDI (Strength Deployment Inventory), basically we are filling up a form or questionaire by score, sum of the score, charts those scores to triangle chart and show what color are you in two situation: “fair weather” and“conflict situations"
The result are in terms of color. To give you a feel of it, there are 4 main colors with another 3 sub (mainly are mixed between 2 colors)
Red: These are assertive, goal focused people who take decisive action and are constantly on the lookout for opportunity.
Green: These tend to be cautious analytical people who judge carefully before acting. They are predominantly concerned with practicalities, fairness, weighing up the issues and using careful consideration before acting.
Blue: These are people-focused carers who consider the needs of others before their own. They are warm and friendly and will defend the rights of others over and above everything else.
Hub: This type of motivation is a combination of all three colours and reflects people who are adaptable, good at team building and able to see issues from a number of different viewpoints.
Base on analyisis:
I am a RED in normal situation but turn GREEN (Blue - Red) in conflict situation which means in conflict I will use basic of logic, order, rules and principles in initial stand of opposition. If pressed far enough, I will take one or another path: if it is important I will take up the fight, if it is unimportant, I will give in.
Hm...so far the analysis is quite precise...

The story goes like this, at first I got voice distortion when I was on call. Can you imagine in the middle of conversation, you heard "robotic" voice, I was on the phone with John and I thought he was playing prank with me...hoho...after few times then I realized it's phone problem. This is how I sent in for the 1st time..
Reason given: Faulty Cable, and replace cable.
In just less then a week, when I were travelling in the train, I realized that my phone line is off, signal shown, but no phone call nor sms can be sent...verified with few phone, they are ok, only mine have problem...and there I go again for 2nd time..

Once, I got my phone back, I went to Dhoby ghout mrt quickly to test the line..and guess what it is still the same.....I can't make any phone call!!!! Arghh........
This time I decided to do some troubleshooting myself since I'm calling myself an Engineer hahahaha....I did observed last time that whenever there was no 3G logo, I can;t make any phone call even though the signal bar shows full strength..and once 3G logo is back, I'm okay...
So with the help of technology called Google, I find out what are these 2 and 3G things, i know 3G is where you can do fancy thing like video call, so in conclusion, it turn out they are different network.
Verify with starhub (Starhub call center is another pain, never ever got connected with the operator!!!), their 3G coverage is 99% while 2G is 99.99% as per their claim.
So possible root cause: SIM card faulty or phone faulty for 2G connection.
To cut the story short, I went down to Starhub, waiting patiently for my number while watching stupid Mr Bean show. Change SIM card, and voila....problem still there..
So what's next???!!! Of course go back to Samsung and give a good scolding to their customer service!!! hahahaha.
The result?? Motherboard replaced + Hand Delivery to my footstep :P and the most important things..Problem rectified...yippie
It is a very "girly" movie with lots of pretty and stylist clothes, shoes, love and friendship...well it;s kind of nice show, we did laughed a lot...
But what trigger me the most is the friendship among the four, how those friends try to console Carrie when she was broken hearted, they even flew to Mexico to accompany her!!
Wonder will ELG be like that say in next 15 years...will be in our 40-s.......oh noooooo......
And I just realized that many of the youth actually have blog too...well I traced it from Bombie, Lydia, Movie Crushers, etc..etc hehehehe
Today I went to Hortpark with my colleagues and walk from Alexandra to Mount Faber...well this is part of our Managers programs to keep all of us healthy hahaha..
The walk is quite fun and the place is really nice... I like especially the Henderson waves...the bridge is made of wood!!! And like what John said, it resembles the Noah Ark. Luckily the weather is perfect, not hot coz it's cloudly with a bit of rain
But if you like nature, you should go and try it :P

And actually, gua sempet memaksa diri untuk "merenung" what is my new year resolution (biarpun agak basi)...well..well..well...setelah dipikir2 dan direnung2kan...
I want to.............(no..not get married...too early for me haha)....belajar about People management, understand how business work...more from learning through job and also by reading (thanks to my brother yg udah ceramahin gua non-stop selama gua seminggu di Indo)
yah begitulah...hari ini baru mulai dengan membawa buku by Jack Welsh..Straight from the Gut...moga2 bisa kelar nih buku by end of March???
gua heran ama orang yg bisa nge-blog setiap harinya...mo nulis aapa aja...
apa itu karena my life is so taht boring that nothing special to mention ...sigh....

I guess once in awhile perlu lah kita keluar dari rutinitas and really have a good rest, recharge ourselves....do the things we like..even it is silly things like playing JTblocks yg bisa bikin gua nge-hook but yet I knew it just a waste of time :P
anyway intinya, i will enjoy what i'll be doing today...sekarang jam 10.20am...masi ada 6jam before I end this "laze around" day hehehhe
setuju banget sih...keinget pas gua protes diblog kalo bosen ama rutinitas idup..day in and day out..so I suppose if we really live up our lives to max, learn each and every lesson through. Live will be more purposefull.
but the problem is, i'm not such a thinker who can sit down and think ("learn")...i'm pretty much a "do-er" who can;t really sit still for a very very long time. I prefer to get things done..something that you can see physically..
Guess this is something that I need to improve...How to become a "thinker" but yet ....not to the very very melancholy type...harus seimbang kali yee.....
entah kenapa kurang ada dorongan buat isi blog...apakah ini tandanya kalo akhirnya gua nyadar kalo emang gua kaga bakat jadi penulis....
