Gift For You

Dear Friend, Imagine with me a little scenario... It's 7 AM and the doorbell rings. Your spouse shuffles to the door, opens it wide and says... “Honey? Some guys are here and they want to talk with you...” You stumble out of bed, shaking your head and thinking, “Who could be stopping by at this hour?” Pulling on a bathrobe, you slowly make your way into the kitchen......and you can't believe what you're seeing..

A thankful heart

Again, taken from greatday.com
Being gloomy yesterday but when I read this, it really reminded me to be thankful for all the things that I have in life. No more complain

A thankful heart

When you feel the impulse to be judgmental, let that be a cue for you to first be thankful. When you discover that you're focusing on what's wrong, use that as a reminder of all the many things that are right.

Immediately upon waking each morning, think of ten things you are grateful for at the moment. As you fall asleep at the end of the day, fill your thoughts with thankfulness for the good and valuable blessings in your life.

Give the power of your thoughts to the positive influences in your world, and they will become more influential. Remind yourself often of what works well, and you'll naturally find ways to make many other things work well.

The way to enjoy success is not to study failure. The way to experience success is to extend and expand the success you already know. Gratitude is so powerful because it makes you so powerful. Gratitude puts you in a positive frame of reference within which many more positive things can happen.

Begin each day, end each day, and live each day with a sincerely thankful heart. And as each day passes, you'll have more and more for which to be thankful.

Food review

Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant
#02-53 Parco Bugis Junction. Tel: 6835 7577

Went to this restaurant last Thursday to try out the xiao long bao since it is featured in newspaper.

Found the ambience is nice, so take this picture using my handphone while waiting for John

Food wise: Xiao long bao is not bad but I still prefer Din Tai Fung. But you can try the wan ton soup!

Price wise: $15- 20 per person (as we eat quite light that day)

Motivational web

Found this website, find it quite interesting and would like to share with you all

http://greatday.com

one of the content...

Patience

Patience saves you money. Patience saves time, reduces stress, and improves your relationships.
With patience, you have the ability to achieve things that are simply not possible without it. Using patience, you can more fully understand and be understood.

Looking at life with patience, you can uncover and experience rich treasures that you otherwise never would have known about. Living with patience, you develop the persistence to create great and valuable things.

Patience does not mean sitting back and doing nothing. On the contrary, patience means always doing the very best you can do, while understanding that the results you seek will not come immediately.

Patience is the acknowledgement that the quality of life is much more important than the quantity of things with which you fill it. Patience is the willingness to accept what is, for right now, while putting all you have into creating the best that can be.

Make the most of the many opportunities life provides for you to practice patience. With patience is your life fully and richly lived.

Don't judge the book by its cover

Watch this video in one of the seminar talking about how self confidence is important as how you present yourself and how the first impression of you will affect people judgement on you.

Another moral of the story: Don't judge the book by its cover.
Enjoy!

Food that we eat

Food that we have eaten for past weeks (not in order coz I can't remember
it either) and also based on if I remember to take photos before start eating
hehehe

1. Ju Shin Jung East Korean Charcoal BBQ
(Address: 1018 East Coast Parkway #02-01)

Rating: 3 out of 5, the meat is so so but have quite a lot of variation for sidedish

Price: $$$ (expensive: spent 40++ per person)

2. Lao Beijing (Tiong Bahru Plaza)

Rating: 3 out of 5, quite a decent meal for that price. the place lay out is also quite nice. But for Xiao Long Bao, Din Tai Fung is still our fave.

Price: $ (spent 15++ per person)

3. Borders Bistro (Wheelock Place, Orchard)
Have been to this bistro few times as the food is good especially the pasta and pizza! Another good thing is the place is not crowded as you know, finding a good makan place in Orchard without queueing is tough!

Rating: 4 out of 5, like the pizza (Spicy chicken) and pasta (Gamberoni Aglio E Olio). The Caesar salad just so-so

Price: As the serving is quite big, you can cut cost by ordering 1 main dish and 1 side dish to share for 2. There is free flow bread too :)

This is the food review so far, hopefully I can always remember to bring camera whenever I go and TAKE PHOTO before eat hahaa

Few jokes

Siapa yang mau makan ya?
Partner #1: "Boy, kita bagi-bagi tugas buat nelpon sponsor makanan, gua nelpon I-Crave, lo nelpon Beard's Papa..."
Partner #2: "Oke, mana nomernya?"
(Partner #2 menunggu nada sambung)
Partner #2: "Halo, selamat siang. Dengan Breast Papa?"

Didengar oleh seseorang yang membayangkan dan langsung mimpi buruk.

Or maybe run around, sir?
Tamu Bule: "Good morning, can I come in?"
Penerima tamu mempersilakan duduk: "Yes sir... Please sit up."
Tamu Bule: "No, thank you." (dengan muka bete)

Didengar orang-orang sekitar ruangan yang merasa kasihan si bule dipaksa keringetan pagi-pagi.

Jadi selama ini kamu ngapain aja di sini?
Istri Pasien: "Honey, tempat tidurnya diturunin sedikit ya."
Pasien: "Iya..."
Perawat Baru: (sambil memberi obat) "Pak Honey, obatnya sudah siap ya..."

RS Bintaro, didengar oleh istri yang terlalu sibuk tertawa untuk curiga.

Katanya Band-Aid lagi sale!
AE #1: "Aduh, tangan gue berdarah niih."
AE #2 dari cubicle seberang: "Apanya yang berdarah?"
AE #3 dari cubicle lain lagi: "Waah, siapa yang mau ke Zaraaa?!"

Didengar oleh satu ruangan yang berharap hari gajian segera datang.

Men are from Mars and Women from Venus

Suddenly I was thinking about this book after I did a review of past one year relationship. Another thing that trigger me is also my brother recommendation on this book.

Have not gotten any chance to look for this book, but from what I "wiki", here is the main points of difference of Men and Women (You be the jugde on whether these are true enough!)

The point system
Gray suggests that men and women count (or score) the giving and receiving of love differently. For men, they tend to give larger blocks of points (20, 30, 40 points etc.) whereas for women they give each act of love one point at a time.

Example: A man might count a $200 present as 20 points, but a woman will count each individual piece of the present as 1 point each. For her, the total sum of points comes from the present as a whole. For example, the different parts of the environment where the present is given each get 1 point (candles, music, privacy, location etc.) the card gets 1 point, the flowers get 1 point, the gift wrap gets 1 point and the gift itself gets 1 point. Their totals may even out to be the same, but it's the act of scoring that is different.

My opinion: Strongly AGREE haha

The cave and the wave
Another major point of Gray's books are the differences in the way they react under stress. He believes that many men withdraw until they find a solution to the problem. He refers to this as "retreating into their cave." In some cases they may literally retreat, for example, to the garage or spend time with friends. This has historically been hard for women to understand because when they are stressed their natural reaction is to talk about issues in order to find a solution.

My opinion: True for certain cases

Well, that's as much of what Wiki has provide ..to get more details, gotta grab the book..

Modern Romance

Kemarin gua baca artikel yg menarik ttg gimana 2 orang dari benua yg berbeda, bisa ketemu and become an item...

kalo pas zaman bahela, we are touched on how in the love story, a handsome foreign price fall in love with local girl, mungkin pas zaman perang, terdampar disungai or whatever (ini gua yg ada-adain sih) , di zaman modern ini, love storynya lebih how they mee ONLINE and fall in love.

Back to the story....this couple actually meet through FLICKR...the online photo sharing community. When the girl saw the collection photos of the guy as shown by her friend, she had already made a mental note to add him as her community friend. To her surprise, when she reached home, the guy in the FLICKR has added her as friend. Through that community then they know each other better.

From FLICKR, then they write to each other (Of course not the old way where you have to wait for days or weeks to have your letter reach other party) like 3 times a day, talk through GCHAT, SKYPE..this is a real modern internet world romance.. till finally the guy fly over from USA to England to meet the girl...

I do actually pop by their flicker web, and truely the photos are beautifull...Here you go if you want to check it out...
